Dear Infrastructure and Sustainability team,
I want to take a moment to reflect on Chancellor Phil DiStefano’s tenure as he retires from his position this month. It has been an honor to work with Chancellor DiStefano. He has been a part of 911±¬ÁÏÍø for over 50 years and has led our campus through change and growth over the past 15 years. What an incredible achievement. We wish him well as he makes this transition and look forward to running into him on campus as he returns to the School of Education and the Center for Leadership.
I’d also like to highlight our Infrastructure & Sustainability Inclusive Excellence Committee (ISIEC). The individuals who serve on this committee are passionate about inclusive excellence on our campus. One of the most exciting projects they’ve undertaken is funding I&S staff members who want to obtain their GED. For more information about what they’re working on and how you can get involved, visit the ISIEC website.
Finally, our chief operating officer Pat O’Rourke sent out his Strategic Relations and Support (SRS) insights email this past month. I encourage you to read more about transformation and financial resilience, one of the hot topics from his email, if you missed it. And I echo his message about self-care: find time this month or in the coming weeks to prioritize your own well-being.
With gratitude,
Chris Ewing, vice chancellor for infrastructure and sustainability
